Kodak Achieve T400/T800 Platesetter
OVERVIEW
The Kodak Achieve T400/T800 Platesetter was Kodak’s value-tier thermal CTP system, built on the proven Trendsetter platform to bring reliable plate imaging to commercial and publication printers at an entry-friendly cost. Available in 4-page (T400) and 8-page (T800) formats, it offered semi-automated plate handling as standard, with optional inline punch and a fully automated Multi-Cassette Unit (MCU) for higher-volume shops.
Current Replacement
The Veriset T400/T800 is the recommended current-generation replacement, sharing the same 4-page/8-page format range and TH5 Imaging Technology as the Achieve. It adds Lens Contamination Avoidance (LCA) technology, which protects the imaging laser and allows the use of lower-cost, lower-debris plates, plus a more efficient cooling system that reduces power consumption to 380 watts — a further improvement over the Achieve’s already low energy use.
