OVERVIEW
The Scodix Ultra 6500 SHD is a B1-format digital embellishment press designed for high-volume CMYK printers working with 41-inch sheets. It brings full embellishment capability — foil, 3D texture, glitter, security, Cast & Cure, Braille, variable data, and more — directly into the production workflow, without the lead times and tooling costs that come with traditional embellishment methods.
At its core, the Ultra 6500 SHD runs on the same proven platform as the rest of the Ultra series, but scaled for B1 sheet sizes up to 1,060 × 760 mm. The Scodix RSP™ system uses four CCD cameras to automatically position and register embellishment to the printed image at ±100-micron accuracy — the operator loads the job and the press handles the rest. Pallet-based feeding and stacking at up to 4,000 and 2,300 sheets respectively means long runs stay uninterrupted.
Where the Ultra 6500 SHD earns its name is in the SHD (Smart High Definition) mode — reproducing crisp lines and fine details down to 4-point text, at up to 2,540 × 450 DPI. Combined with MLE (Multi-Layer Embellishment) for genuine raised 3D textures and an image format of 1,000 × 700 mm, it covers the full range from delicate fine-detail finishing to bold sculptural effects — all from one press, compatible with both digital and offset printed sheets.
