Kodak Trendsetter Q1600 Platesetters

VLF Thermal CTP Platesetter | SquareSpot Imaging | Up to 31.2 pph | 1,325 × 1,650 mm Max Plate
OVERVIEW
The Kodak Trendsetter Q1600 is a very large format (VLF) thermal CTP platesetter built on the same award-winning SquareSpot imaging technology and advanced engineering that have made Kodak Trendsetter Platesetters popular in over 24,000 thermal CTP installations worldwide. Designed for offset packaging and large-format commercial printers, it delivers outstanding stability, reliability, and quality at an affordable capital cost — enabling printers to compete on both quality and economy. With the latest W-speed option delivering up to 31.2 plates per hour, a maximum plate size of 1,325 × 1,650 mm, and optional high-resolution imaging at 4,800/5,080 dpi for security printing and fine art, the Q1600 is Kodak’s definitive VLF platemaking solution.

    Description

SquareSpot Imaging Technology — Dependable Accuracy

    • Kodak’s proprietary SquareSpot Imaging Technology — standard in every Trendsetter Q1600 — delivers a precisely shaped square dot that maintains dependable accuracy regardless of plate emulsion sensitivity, processor variation, or laser power fluctuations. Thermal compensation technology ensures consistent imaging from plate to plate and machine to machine — reducing remakes, minimizing press adjustments, and enabling stable color reproduction across long press runs.

    W-Speed — Up to 31.2 pph

    • Now available with the W-speed option, the Trendsetter Q1600 delivers up to 31.2 plates per hour for standard portrait-mode plates (1,030 × 800 mm) — making it one of the fastest VLF platesetters in its class. Three speed options (F, X, W) allow operators to balance throughput with imaging requirements across different plate sizes and job types.

    VLF Format — Up to 1,325 × 1,650 mm

    • The Trendsetter Q1600 handles plates up to 1,325 × 1,650 mm — covering the largest packaging, display, and publication plate formats required by Indian commercial and packaging printers. Maximum image area is 1,314.9 × 1,650 mm.

    4,800 / 5,080 dpi High-Resolution Option

    • The optional high-resolution imaging mode at 4,800 or 5,080 dpi opens new business opportunities in security printing, high-resolution fine art reproduction, and specialty packaging applications that demand output beyond standard commercial CTP resolution.

    Film Imaging Option

    • The optional Film Imaging Option adds thermal film imaging capability — including vacuum systems, film registration sensors, debris collection, and external venting — enabling the Q1600 to serve both plate and film output requirements from a single device.

Kodak Mobile CTP Control App + JDF/JMF Connectivity

    • The optional Kodak Mobile CTP Control App enables remote monitoring from Android or iOS. JDF/JMF Connectivity provides real-time job and device status within the Print Console software — integrating the Q1600 into automated, MIS-connected prepress workflows.
