Description
Rich Colour Expression — Truepress ink SC+
Truepress ink SC+ is Screen’s proprietary water-based ink, engineered to print directly onto offset coated paper. Its unique permeability and adhesion technology removes the need for an anchor coat, while helping preserve paper texture and reduce running costs.
High density with no bleeding means sharp, well-defined dots and rich, vibrant colour that stands up to offset — including deeper blacks that open the door to higher-quality, differentiated work.
Idealliance, the US provider of G7+ certification, tested and confirmed the outstanding colorimetric accuracy, uniformity, repeatability and registration of the Truepress JET 520HD+, awarding it Digital Press System Certification in the inkjet category — independently verified quality that helps build trust with clients.
Precise, High-Definition Printing
Newly developed grayscale printheads support multi-droplet printing at up to 1,200 dpi, delivering smooth mid-tone gradation with minimal graininess, alongside crisp reproduction of small text and fine lines.
A highly stable paper transport design and industry-leading registration accuracy help every system make the most of its printheads and maximise overall print quality.
High-Precision Printhead Assembly & Substrate Control
Single-pass printheads, made in Japan, are arranged in an optimised design and built using production techniques for rapid, high-resolution printing — backed by a stringent quality control process at every production stage.
A proprietary multi-spindle transport system handles a wide range of paper weights with consistent tension and stability for high-speed roll control. Any web wander is corrected in real time by the Dynamic Nozzle Shift (DNS) system, using multiple sensors to protect registration accuracy.
Chill-rollers reduce paper expansion and contraction between print passes — a major cause of misregistration — keeping two-sided jobs sharp and aligned.
Superior Productivity & Reliability
A powerful, configurable drying system — combining NIR (near-infrared) constant-temperature drying, heated rollers, and air heating — can be matched to different paper types and production environments. The Truepress JET 520HD AD adds an array of small-diameter heated rollers for the strongest drying performance in the series.
EQUIOS, Screen’s RIP and workflow platform, is built on Adobe’s PDF Print Engine with Mercury RIP Architecture for fast native PDF processing and rapid handling of variable data. The full workflow — from job registration to print adjustments — is entered and checked from a single onboard touch screen.
Intelligent Nozzle Control (INC) automatically compensates for underperforming nozzles using adjacent ones, keeping quality high and integrating maintenance into production schedules rather than stopping the line for it. A pull-out printhead module keeps daily maintenance quick, and lets support staff resolve issues faster when they do come up.
High-efficiency NIR drying technology
NIR (near-infrared) drying’s two main advantages are its high speed and excellent heat conduction efficiency. Compared to standard infrared, NIR delivers higher heat energy that dries the interior of the ink quickly and uniformly, while reducing paper damage compared to technologies that dry by heating the paper surface.
