Kodak Sonora XTRA Process Free Plates are the best process free plates Kodak has ever made — and now with XTRA benefits. Designed for the most demanding print environments, Sonora XTRA combines the long-run capability of conventional processed plates (up to 400,000 impressions on web presses), the clarity of 3× stronger image contrast versus Sonora X, and the toughness to handle just about any print environment — without a plate processor, without chemistry, without water, and without baking. Upgrading to Sonora XTRA requires no new CTP equipment, no workflow changes, and no processor setup — just mount the plates and go.

- Sonora XTRA Plates completely eliminate plate processing from the prepress workflow. No plate processor to operate, maintain, or repair. No chemistry to buy, handle, or dispose of. No water to rinse plates, mix chemistry, dilute gum, or clean equipment. No energy consumed by thermal processing. For a printer making 50,000 m² of plates annually, this means 0 litres of chemistry, 0 kWh of processing energy, and 0 litres of water — versus 500,000–800,000 litres of water, 38,000–50,000 kWh, and 4,000–10,000 litres of chemistry with conventional processed plates.

XTRA Long Runs — Meets Needs of Unbaked Processed Plate Users
- Sonora XTRA Plates deliver run lengths sufficient for most printers currently using unbaked processed plates: up to 400,000 impressions on heatset/coldset web presses, 250,000 on sheetfed presses, and 100,000 for offset packaging (non-UV) and UV-ink applications.
